The 9th Annual Edition of Sustainable Places (SP 2021)

Rome, Italy | 29 September–1 October 2021

Volume Editor:
Zia Lennard, R2M Solution S.r.l., Italy

Cover Story: Sustainable Places 2021 (SP2021) was the 9th edition of the annual international conference, renowned for being Europe’s #1 destination for the dissemination of research, the conduct of workshops, project clustering, and networking between stakeholders of the built environment. SP2021 gathered more than 150 European projects representing €850 million in R&D and 1500 research-performing organizations. This Proceedings volume contains 33 papers showcasing just a few of the cutting-edge research and innovation projects that comprised the technical program of SP2021. Sustainability targets and climate change objectives cannot be met without addressing the built environment at the building, district, and urban scales to include design, retrofit, and local transport and energy infrastructures.
